University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Arts
The Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana has been a centre of humanities and social sciences education and research since 1919, as one of the founding members of the University of Ljubljana. Today, it is the largest faculty in Slovenia, both in terms of student enrolment and the diversity of study programmes offered by its 21 departments, and it is the country’s leading institution for humanities education. The Faculty fosters open-minded, critical, and socially responsible individuals and makes an important contribution to the education of teachers in the fields of the humanities and social sciences. Through contemporary research and the development of interdisciplinary approaches, it actively addresses the challenges of modern society and contributes to the intellectual development of Slovenian, European, and global communities. Particular attention is devoted to the advancement of disciplines of national importance and to intensive international cooperation. Within the RESILIENCE-SI consortium, the Faculty of Arts participates as the largest humanities partner, contributing a broad range of humanities-based approaches to the study of religion.
