Religious and spiritual care for the Slovenian Armed Forces Personnel in the 21th Century is a research project that examines the role, organization, and development prospects of religious and spiritual care within the Slovenian Armed Forces. Through a comprehensive analysis of the existing system, the project seeks to identify the needs and challenges of the contemporary military environment and, based on comparative studies of systems in other countries, formulate recommendations for its further development.

The project combines theological, sociological, legal, and organizational approaches and includes research into the experiences of military chaplains, pastoral assistants, members of the Slovenian Armed Forces, and their families. Particular attention is given to issues of religious freedom, interreligious dialogue, holistic care for military personnel, and the role of spiritual care in strengthening the resilience and psychosocial well-being of service members.

The final outcome of the project will be a set of guidelines and policy recommendations for the development of a modern, inclusive, and effective system of religious and spiritual care that meets the needs of the Slovenian Armed Forces and contemporary military organizations, while contributing to stronger cooperation between the military, religious communities, and society at large.
